On 21 December 2024, the CUSAC gathered for a heartwarming Christmas celebration at Curtin University Singapore Campus. The event brought together familiar faces, providing an opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni and strengthen the bonds within our vibrant community.
The evening began with a warm welcome from Mr James Chen, PBM, CUSAC President, who officially opened the party. James extended apologies on behalf of Professor Alex, who was unable to attend due to personal reasons but had conveyed his best wishes to all members.
Before the festivities began, James and Exco Member, Mr Cliff Goh, led the attendees on an engaging tour of the newly established campus. The tour showcased the state-of-the-art facilities and highlighted how the new campus symbolizes Curtin University’s growth and commitment to providing world-class education in Singapore. It was an exciting opportunity for everyone to see how far the university has come.
Once the group returned, the Christmas party kicked off with a lively and unique gift exchange. Upon arrival, each member had placed their wrapped gift on the designated gift table, which served as the centerpiece of anticipation and excitement. The exchange began with the first member picking a gift from the table. The second member then had a choice: keep the gift they picked or "snatch" an already opened gift from someone else. If they chose to keep their selection, they would open it immediately. However, if they opted to snatch, they could claim any previously opened gift from another member. This playful twist sparked laughter and friendly banter, making the exchange a cherished highlight of the evening.
Adding a personal touch to the event, each participant introduced themselves briefly before their turn, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fostered deeper connections within the group.
Special thanks go to Ms Kemmy Koh and Mr Matthew Looi for their dedication and hard work in organizing this memorable event. Their efforts ensured that every detail was thoughtfully planned, creating an atmosphere of festive joy and camaraderie.
Although the gathering was intimate, it served as a meaningful way to close out 2024, fostering connections and celebrating the shared spirit of the Curtin Alumni community.
Merry Christmas and a happy 2025 to all!
